Brigadier-General Dave Quinn joined the Canadian Forces as a Direct Entry Officer in 1988 and has commanded in both the Land and Joint domains from Platoon to Formation level.

After his initial posting to Base Supply in Wainwright, he served with the Canadian Airborne Regiment in Petawawa as its last Quartermaster from 1993-1995. He was selected to command Supply and Transportation Company in 5 Service Battalion (Valcartier) from 2002 to 2005. In 2008 he was appointed as the Commanding Officer of 3 Canadian Support Unit (Montreal) and most recently he commanded the Canadian Forces Joint Operational Support Group (Kingston) from 2015 to 2017.

His staff appointments included working in Base Tech Services in Petawawa, working for the DCDS within J4 Log, on exchange with XVIII Airborne Corps (Fort Bragg, NC) as a Corps Headquarters Logistics planner, as Chief of Staff (COS) within Canadian Forces Joint Support Group (CFJSG), as COS Support of the 1st Canadian Division Headquarters, and at the National level as the Director of the Strategic J4 Implementation Team within SJS.

Operationally, he commanded Supply Platoon with the National Support Element (NSE) during OP PALLADIUM Roto 0 (Bosnia) in 1996, was appointed as the Deputy Commanding Officer of the NSE on OP ATHENA Roto 1 (Kabul) in 2004, and deployed as a J4 Plans staff officer in the Multi-National Corps - Iraq Headquarters in Baghdad in 2005. He most recently deployed as the Commanding Officer of the Strategic Line of Communication Detachment - Cyprus, in 2011.

Completing the Joint Command and Staff Program in Toronto in 2008, he completed his MBA from Webster University (St-Louis) in 2010, and attended the Dwight D. Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy in Washington, DC, completing his Master of Science degree in National Resource Strategy in 2014.

BGen Quinn was posted to his current position as Canadian Army G4 and appointed Director Canadian Army Logistics in 2017.

He enjoys racquet sports, golf, riding his Harley, and spending time with his wife and children.
