Who We Are
The Loyal Edmonton Regiment is a Primary Reserve infantry unit of the Canadian Forces. The “Loyal Eddies” are part of 41 Canadian Brigade Group, 3rd Canadian Division and our Home Station is located at Jefferson Armoury in Edmonton, Alberta and C-Company in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories.
As a Primary Reserve unit, service is voluntary. Reservists are enrolled to serve on a part-time basis but they may volunteer for full-time employment. Many courses are run on weekends, but often important career courses are full-time. Full time training and courses are often held in the summer. While serving in a reserve unit, most reservists have full-time careers in a wide range of civilian occupations or are full-time students.
As a light infantry unit, our main focus is to provide trained infantry soldiers and mortarmen to meet the operational requirements of the Canadian Forces. Training is done both locally and at various training centres across Canada. The light infantry training is always a challenge, but it is also rewarding and prepares a soldier to react to difficult situations both at home and abroad.

Earth Day: Wainwright’s heritage bison herd inspires Second Annual Bison Run
Wainwright, Alberta — You can’t roller skate in a buffalo herd, according to the questionable wisdom of the late Texas country singer Roger Miller, but you could support Earth Day by running in the second annual Bison Run, if you’ve a mind to.
