Borden and surrounding areas can expect high noise levels from October 16 to November 3, 2017

October 13, 2017 – Borden, Ontario – National Defence / Canadian Armed Forces

The Canadian Army will conduct a Joint Counter Explosive Threat exercise at Canadian Forces Base Borden and 4th Canadian Division Training Centre Meaford, from October 16 to November 3, 2017.

Residents of the surrounding areas may experience high noise levels, including loud blasts, for the duration of these activities due to the use of explosives in the training exercises.

This exercise is being conducted under all applicable Canadian Armed Forces training regulations to protect both the public and Canadian Armed Forces members. 

The purpose of this annual counter explosive threat (CET) exercise is to hone the skills of Canadian and international Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Improvised Explosive Device Defeat (EOD/IEDD) operators and related enablers, and strengthen interoperability with Allied and civilian law enforcement and security agency CET teams.
