Change of Command at CFB Suffield

Ralston, Alberta  – June 26, 2017

What: The media are invited to attend a military parade that will officially mark the Change of Command at Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Suffield from Lieutenant-Colonel (LCol) John Scott to LCol Mike Onieu.

Who: LCol Onieu joined the Canadian Armed Forces in 1993 in Regina, Saskatchewan. His regiment is the Lord Strathcona’s Horse (Royal Canadians), and he has served most of his military career in western Canada, including a previous posting to the South Alberta Light Horse in Medicine Hat.

When: Arrive at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, July 5 (parade begins at 9:45 a.m.).

Where: At CFB Suffield, on the lawn in front of the base headquarters, please enter through the west gate.

Members of the media must RSVP by noon on Tuesday, July 4, to be granted access to the secured military base. In an email, please include the name(s) and title(s) of those attending, including vehicle information (make, model, colour and license plate number).
