Brigadier-General Mialkowski

Commander 4th Canadian Division and Joint Task Force (Central)

Brigadier-General Conrad Mialkowski joined the Canadian Forces in 1988 while completing a Bachelor of Arts degree at Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario. He was commissioned as an Infantry officer in The Royal Canadian Regiment in 1991.

BGen Mialkowski spent the majority of his Regimental service in Petawawa, ON, with First Battalion, The Royal Canadian Regiment from the rank of Lieutenant to Lieutenant-Colonel. His service in Petawawa culminated with the honour of commanding 2 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group from 2015-17. Extra-Regimentally, he has served with Second Battalion, The Irish Regiment of Canada, in Sudbury, ON, and Land Force Central Area Training Centre, in Meaford, ON. Staff assignments have included positions in both plans and current operations within the Army Headquarters, the Canadian Expeditionary Forces Command Headquarters, the Strategic Joint Staff and the Chief of Staff to the Chief of the Defence Staff at NDHQ, in Ottawa.

BGen Mialkowski has benefited from the good fortune of having commanded during operations. First as a Mortar Platoon Commander, Op HARMONY, Croatia (1994-95), next as a Company Commander, Op PALLADIUM, Bosnia (2003-04), as a Battle Group Commander, Op ATHENA, Afghanistan (2010), and finally he deployed as a Brigadier-General as Deputy Coordinator with the United States Security Coordinator for Israel and the Palestinian Territories (Op PROTEUS) and Commander Task Force Middle East (2017-18).

A graduate of the National Security Programme, he holds a Masters of Defence Studies from the Royal Military College of Canada (RMC) Kingston.

He is married and the couple has a daughter.

Brigadier-General Mialkowski assumed command of 4th Canadian Division and Joint Task Force (Central) on June 22, 2019.
